WHEN: 7 p.m., Friday, April 4, 2014

The “Green House Gala,” hosted by Stephen and Michelle Hazeltine will be held at Hazeltine Nurseries in Venice on Friday, April 4, 2014, at 7 p.m. Guests are invited to dress for garden party fabulous and experience a different kind of Sarasota gala. Funds raised from the sale of tickets and mini-silent auction will help support the Food Bank’s Campaign Against Summer Hunger which runs from April 1-May 10, 2014.
Hazeltine Nurseries will be transformed for guests to enjoy cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, dinner catered by Mattison’s, and dancing to music by popular local entertainer Jonathan Cortez.
Beyond the food, friends and fun, the Green House Gala will invite guests to join the community-wide Campaign Against Summer Hunger. 21,000 Sarasota County students (50%) receive free and reduced lunch at school. During the summer, those kids – and their siblings and families – may go without regular meals. All Faiths Food Bank is leading the Campaign Against Summer Hunger to encourage Sarasota residents to “empty their shelves” and make a cash gift so no child in our community goes hungry. Campaign information and the many opportunities to participate can be found online at www.SkipALunch.org.
Green House Gala corporate sponsors include Boar’s Head, Gulf Coast Community Foundation, Hazeltine Nurseries, Macrae Family Foundation, Matthews Currie Ford, Mattison’s, Spotlight Graphics, Venice Gondolier Sun, and Venice Magazine. Private event sponsors include Bruce and Elaine Burton, Joe and Diane Dombrowski, Ellery and Beverly Girard, Judith Keeler, Stephen and Janine Marrone, and Tommy and Tiffany Taylor.

Special Note about Giving Hunger The Blues
Although this event is a lot of fun and we are thrilled when the community comes together to support the food bank, this year we will not be co-hosting. With the increasing demand for services and our limited resources, we’ve decided to redirect our efforts to other activities that are less time and labor intensive.
Thank you for your support!
