Our 2024 Major Special Events

Throughout the year, All Faiths Food Bank engages our community through various campaigns and events. Your generous support of these efforts provides food for people facing hunger in Sarasota and DeSoto counties.

Walk to End Summer Hunger

March 24

Campaign Against Summer Hunger

April 1 – May 15

When school ends, hunger begins for more than 40,000 children.

Many Sarasota and DeSoto County students rely on free and reduced meals at school. The summer months can be especially difficult for the children of families struggling to put food on the table.

With the compassionate help of donors, volunteers and more than 150 community partners, the Campaign Against Summer Hunger raises funds for summer feeding programs.

The campaign kicks off with a community walk, Sunday, March 24, at Nathan Benderson Park.

Autumn Harvest Campaign

August 1 – September 30

The Autumn Harvest campaign helps to achieve our mission of providing more fresh produce to our neighbors in need.

The campaign includes a fun evening in our warehouse, Saturday, Oct. 5, with a farm-to-table style dinner – all while raising funds for our produce program.

Hunger Action Month

September

The entire month of September is devoted to raising awareness about hunger. Hunger Action Month features a multitude of special events and activities, including participation at local schools.

Friends FULL of Giving

November 2

Join us for an evening of friends, food and fun, Saturday, Nov. 2, at an exquisite location in Casey Key overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. All proceeds benefit the ThankFULL Tummies campaign, which provides turkey dinners to our neighbors experiencing food insecurity.

We look forward to gathering with friends and family to give thanks and enjoy a delicious, modern Thanksgiving meal.

ThankFULL Hearts and Tummies Campaign

October 15 – December 31

For families facing financial challenges, the holidays can be a painful reminder of hunger.

Because of YOUR gifts, the ThankFULL Hearts and Tummies campaign turns empty plates into ThankFULL Hearts and Tummies, by providing meals for our neighbors during the holiday season.

Bowls of Hope

November 10

One of the community’s largest and most popular family-friendly events, Bowls of Hope draws around 1,500 guests each year.

More than 40 of our community’s finest restaurants and caterers serve delicious soups, breads, desserts and more. Attendees select beautiful, handcrafted bowls to keep – all donated by local potters, artists and students – while enjoying a modest meal as a reminder of the empty bowls they help to fill.

Join us to help end hunger in our community!
